Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for aeration activities
- Access, interpret and apply aeration documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Coordinate and communicate with other personnel using approved communication methods
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Perform equipment pre-start checks
- Identify, address and report potential hazards, risks and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Obtain and interpret emergency procedures, and be prepared for fire/accident/emergency
- Start-up equipment in sequence
- Operate and monitor equipment
- Read and interpret and apply data from equipment indicators to determine aeration efficiency
- Continuously inspect and monitor operations/plant and catchment areas to identify process defects and potential problems
- Adjust equipment to approved operating parameters to optimise and maintain efficient aeration to meet product quality targets
- Determine the effects adjustments have on upstream or downstream outputs and communicate to others
- Pass on end of shift information verbally or in writing to oncoming shift
- Shutdown in sequence and/or isolate equipment
- Conduct housekeeping activities
